TTEC Gives Back Using Marketing Power to Transform Lives

Global outreach is not only a preference in the business world, but more of a necessity.

Companies like TTEC, formerly known as TeleTech Holdings, offer global customer experiences through the vein of omni-channel customer service, done by captivating designs and operations on behalf of the world’s most innovative brands.

Kyle Priest, chief strategy and marketing officer for a company that employs more than 49,000 people on six different continents, spoke with RewardExpert about how TTEC is using its market power and influence to pragmatically impact other people’s lives.

Personalizing Customer Service

TTEC was founded in 1982 by Chairman and CEO Ken Tuchman, who was inspired to transform the way companies delivered customer experiences. In a span of 35 years, the company has partnered with business leaders across marketing, sales and customer service avenues, designing and delivering straightforward human experiences through different channels of interaction.

The rebranding is quite recent, and Priest said it means the company has affirmed its success and evolution of being an end-to-end strategic business partner in the delivery of world-class engagement and growth.

“After years of innovation and investment to build a holistic technology-enabled, data-rich customer engagement services platform, TTEC is uniquely positioned to respond to growing market demand,” said Priest.

The company also offers its unified offering Humanify Customer Engagement as a Service, which includes consulting and technology solutions, as well as services related to customer care, growth, trust, and safety.

“While the company has a proud heritage within the customer service industry we pioneered and helped to build, we chose to part with our old name because it limited the perception and understanding of our full capabilities, potential and value.”

Giving Back is a Corporate Responsibility

Part of realizing its value has helped TTEC lend a hand to making the world a better place, one employee at a time. This was done through the TTEC Community Foundation, established to support employees’ passion for sustainability and positivity in their communities.

“Every year the foundation awards grants to local nonprofit organizations that strive to transform the educational experience for students of greatest need,” he said. “The program is employee driven, meaning any of our employees worldwide can sponsor a nonprofit organization focused on education in their community by submitting a grant request to the foundation.”

TTEC provided more than 30 organizations financial support throughout the first half of 2017, spanning worldwide including the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bulgaria, and Brazil. Grants have been awarded to schools, special education centers, and parks and recreation programs.

TTEC employees who were encouraged by the charitable organizations in their communities sponsored grants, with some approved grants coming from the Philippines, West Virginia, Bulgaria, Massachusetts and Brazil.

In its 11th year, the foundation has been ranked as one of the top 10 corporate foundations in Colorado for total charitable contributions. Grants awarded in 2016 impacted approximately 75,000 students across 62 global organizations.

TTEC has also started their Good Sense program in 2007, which focuses on the company’s social and environmental responsibility in their community. Through the Good Sense program, our employees can direct funding and volunteer efforts toward programs, activities and events that make a real difference to countless people around the globe.

“Our company works with clients every day to bring humanity to the customer experience. Extending that care and connection to the communities in which we serve through the foundation keeps us true to our company values to lead every day and do the right thing,” Priest said.

Recognition Comes Full Circle

It’s not just charity, but also recognition — especially for those who fight for our freedom. TTEC takes part in the 500,000 Heroes initiative with the National Chamber Foundation, which is a multi-year commitment to hire 500,000 military veterans and spouses.

Recently, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper declared January 10 as TTEC Day. Priest said the company employs hundreds of Coloradoans across its global headquarters, and their growth and flourishment can be attributed to their work done in Colorado.

“The company has been a top contributor to the emerging technology market in Denver, and has been nationally recognized for diversity, team culture and community focus,” he added. “We’re proud to have marked the occasion of our evolution, from TeleTech to TTEC, with the proclamation from the governor and look forward to continuing to grow not only in Colorado, but globally.”
