Up to 85,000 bonus points - 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points once you spend $2,500 within the first 90 days
The U.S. Bank FlexPerks rewards program is perfect for anyone looking to supplement other travel rewards they earn. It’s also ideal for first time reward travelers. Instead of being required to choose just one loyalty program, you can use your rewards to book with any airline, hotel or rental car company.
Currently the number of points required for redemption depends on the price of the hotel, airfare or car rental. For example, any airline ticket that costs up to $400 would be 20,000 points, and a ticket between $401 and $600 would cost 30,000 points. That means you can receive a value as high as two cents per point.
Something else that many card members enjoy is that each time you book a flight using FlexPoints, you will receive a $25 airline allowance. This could be used to cover baggage fees, in-flight food and beverage purchases, or an airport lounge pass.
Starting December 31, 2017 the FlexPerks program is going to change. To make it a little simpler, they are planning to eliminate the variable reward system. Instead, you will be able to redeem points for a flat 1.5 cents each. That means if you book a $300 flight, it will cost 20,000 FlexPoints.
When you are ready to start cashing in your balance of U.S. Bank FlexPerks rewards, there are several options available. The most popular and most valuable way to use points is for airfare, hotels, car rentals or cruises. Right now these redemptions offer up to two cents of value per point (after December 31, 2017 the value will change to 1.5 cents per point). In addition to travel, you can also redeem for merchandise, gift cards and statement credits.
When you are ready to book travel, start by logging into your U.S. Bank account. Under your rewards page you will see an option for redeeming points for travel. This will load the U.S. Bank travel booking platform. Search for the flight, hotel, rental car or cruise that you are interested in and you’ll see the points that are required to book. From there you would fill out the personal information needed to complete the reservation.
Credit cards can be extremely valuable tools to have in your wallet. Not only do they allow you to earn different types of rewards, but they have many other benefits as well. Some of these benefits can keep you protected when you travel, and others are great to have when shopping. Most benefits will be determined by the card you have. That means it’s important to look a little deeper than just finding out what the sign-up bonus might be and what kind of rewards you will earn for each purchase. Look and see if the U.S. Bank card is a Visa Signature, World Elite MasterCard or an American Express. This will determine the benefits that come with the card.
When you rent a car using a U.S. Bank credit card, you will receive car rental insurance. It’s important to make sure you decline the coverage you will be offered through the rental company. With this benefit you will receive secondary insurance, which means you will need to file a claim with your primary insurance company and then your credit card will pay any additional out-of-pocket expenses.
When you book travel using your U.S. Bank credit card, you will receive several travel benefits. One of them is lost luggage insurance. Occasionally airlines will lose luggage. If that happens, you will receive compensation for the inconvenience.
If you purchase something that is either stolen or damaged within the first 90 days, you can receive compensation from your U.S. Bank credit card. The benefit amount varies by card type, but is usually around $500 per claim.
If you are short on time but need help getting a dinner reservation or tickets for an event, then a handy benefit to have is concierge service. Someone will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help when need it.
A popular benefit for those with a U.S. Bank Visa Signature card is the Luxury Hotel Collection. This benefit will give you access to automatic room upgrades when available, complimentary Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast, a $25 food and beverage credit and more.
With zero fraud liability you will be able to rest easy knowing that you are safe from fraudulent activities on your U.S Bank credit cards.
With online banking from U.S. Bank you will have easy access to all your account information. You will have the ability to check your account balance, make one-time or recurring payments, set up customized email or text alerts, and even redeem your credit card rewards.
Mobile banking from U.S. Bank brings everything to your fingertips. Logging into your account can be as simple as a fingerprint if you have an Apple iPhone. Once you’ve logged into your account you can check your credit card balance, view statements and even make a payment. In addition to these features, you can also deposit checks into any U.S. Bank checking or savings account. You can even transfer money to friends and family with Zelle.
Your security is important to U.S. Bank. They are always monitoring accounts for suspicious activities. If something is spotted on your account, a U.S. Bank fraud prevention team member will reach out to verify transactions. U.S. Bank also helps fight fraud by limiting online and mobile access during periods of inactivity. If you are inactive on your mobile phone for more than five minutes, you will be logged out of your account. This helps protect your account information if your phone falls into the wrong hands.
It’s important to keep a close eye on all your accounts to make sure you don’t notice any suspicious activities. If you do notice something that seems off, you should call the U.S. Bank Fraud Liaison Center at 877-595-6256.
