Capital One Venture X Business Card Review

The Capital One Venture X Business card is the business version of the award-winning Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. The Venture X Business offers great bonuses, generous rewards, and luxury perks, all these for a reasonable annual fee. If you were looking for a credit card for your small business, this card is worth closer attention.

Who Is the Capital One Venture X Business Card Good For?

While the Venture X Business card is full of benefits for businesses, there are some nuances. First of all, the card requires an excellent credit score. Second, like many business cards, it is a charge card, which means the card balance must always be paid off in full every month. Thus, you must be absolutely sure you will be able to pay your balance in full every month.

The card is also good for high spenders who want flexible travel benefits along with business-grade perks. If you use the card’s travel-related benefits, including an unlimited Priority Pass, statement credits for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry and anniversary bonuses, you will be able to offset the card’s annual fee. However, if those are not the services you normally purchase, you will need to spend about $20,000 in card purchases to break even against the annual fee.

Sign-Up Bonus and Annual Bonuses

The Venture X Business card comes with a generous welcome offer. New applicants can earn 150,000 bonus miles for spending $30,000 in the first three months of account opening. This bonus is equal to an impressive $1,500 when redeemed to cover travel purchases.

Another bonus you can get with the Venture X Business card is 10,000 bonus miles after your anniversary each year, starting with your first anniversary.

Miles Earning

The Venture X Business card has a simple earning structure. Plus, it offers ways to earn additional miles on specific purchases. Here’s what you can earn with the card:

What Do Your Miles Get You?

There are several ways you can redeem your miles. The most valuable redemption option is to transfer miles to any of Capital One’s 15+ hotel and airline loyalty programs.

If you are not loyal to any airline, you can use Capital One Travel to book an award travel. Even simpler way to redeem is for a statement credit to cover travel expenses made with your card within 90 days of purchase.

Other ways to redeem are gift cards and cash back. But we wouldn’t recommend redeeming your miles for cash back as you’ll get much lower value per mile with this option.

Bottom Line

The Capital One Venture X Business card can be a great option for small businesses with big expenses. The welcome offer is enticing but has a spending requirement that may be hard to meet for businesses that do not put a significant amount of spending on their credit card. Apart from the welcome offer, the card offers simple rewards structure, business related benefits and travel perks using which it will be easy to offset the card’s annual fee. However, if you want to get welcome offer or need a card that would earn elevated rewards on business expenses, you should opt for a different card.
