Voices.com – Save Time and Get Talent All on One Platform

Connecting businesses with voice talent has never been easier than with Voices.com. If you are a business needing a voiceover done quickly, or if you’re a professional artist looking to make extra money from home, Voices.com is the place to help save you time and money. RewardExpert had the privilege of connecting with David Ciccarelli, co-founder and CEO of Voices.com to discuss his business, and how it has really impacted the voiceover industry.

From Basic Beginnings

Before Voices.com even came about, David and his wife Stephanie ran a small recording studio where they produced professional voiceovers. At the time, their website was called InteractiveVoices.com. “Every so often, we would hear from voice actors across North America who were looking for voiceover work,” Ciccarelli explained. They would ask if they could be on their website. “One by one, our network of voice actors grew, as did the need for a diverse range of voices for our clients.” So in February of 2004, they become the voiceover marketplace that they are today – “connecting the world through the power of the spoken word.”

Changing its Tune

As their business grew, the pair thought it was time for a name change. “We wanted something that truly reflected our brand and what we could do,” said Ciccarelli. “In 2006, we simplified our branding and bought the domain name Voices.com, a domain that predates Google.com. We have been expanding our platform’s territory ever since.”

A Gateway to Opportunity

Voices.com is useful for both businesses seeking voice talent and for actors to find jobs. “Voices.com is the fast and easy solution for getting quality voiceover recordings produced on time and within budget,” noted Ciccarelli. Producers can post jobs themselves, or they can work with an account manager who can take care of posting and collecting auditions for them to review. “Everything happens in one place on the platform, making project management both convenient and efficient.”

For voice actors, Voices.com serves as a “gateway to opportunity.” Once he or she has created a profile and uploaded samples, the actor becomes visible in the company search engine. Some can rank higher than others based on levels of experience, but the platform is home to “voice actors of all ages from all over the world who speak over 100 different languages,” said Ciccarelli. Voices.com makes it so easy for people to apply to multiple jobs without having to leave their home. “The ability to work from home is liberating for voice actors and validates Shakespeare’s remark that all the world’s a stage.”

The Definitive Destination for Voice Actors

Ciccarelli said that his company’s focus on voiceovers sets them apart as “the definitive destination to source voice actors.” Voices.com works with nearly every type of business from advertising agencies to corporate clients, video producers, boutique firms, Fortune 500s and more.

“The area of voiceover work that we see booming right now is voiceover for business. This work, though not as visible (or glamorous) as advertisements you see on TV, represents a far bigger chunk of the market.” Ciccarelli explains that this includes everything from e-learning modules to business presentations.

How to Get Started

To begin your journey with Voices.com, all you need to do is create a profile. The profile wizard helps you get set up quickly. Ciccarelli said the basic (free) membership is called Guest. Guest members can audition for jobs where a client personally invites them. “If you’re looking to rank higher and get access to jobs you can audition for right away, you’ll want to upgrade to our Premium membership, an annual subscription that meets the needs of professional voice actors, retailing at $499 per year.”

A great feature for businesses is that producers can post jobs and receive auditions free of charge so they can evaluate voices before making a decision to move ahead. This gives companies the freedom as to whether or not they want to award their job to a voice acting professional on Voices.com.

Ciccarelli said, “We guarantee that anyone who has posted a job and received auditions will be able to find what they are looking for.”

Looking Ahead

If you’re part of a business looking for voice talent or if you’re an actor looking for a great voiceover opportunity, www.voices.com is definitely worth checking out. Or, for additional information, Ciccarelli encourages anyone interested in the voiceover field to attend VoiceSummit.ai, the largest voice tech event of the year. This year it will be July 22-25 in Newark, New Jersey, and he will be providing a keynote.
