Qatar Airways Picks Up the Pace With More Flights to India

Qatar Airways is reinstating its nonstop flights from Doha to Nagpur, an emerging trade and business hub in India, on December 1. With the expanded service, the airline’s total weekly flights to over a dozen destinations in India will increase from 95 to 102.

Qatar Airways, which is known for its excellent service, luxurious appointments and for its Privilege Club freqeuent flyer program also offers service to major hubs in the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Boston and Atlanta, as well as hubs in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and South America. Since the airline is a oneworld alliance member, travelers can use use miles from a variety of frequent flyer programs to book trips on the carrier.

Qatar’s Expansion

The airline is bringing this route back to satisfy the increasing demand for flights to India. As the carrier’s biggest market in terms of destinations, Qatar is keen to expand its reach in India.

“Today, India has the largest number of destinations served by our carrier across any market, and we will continue to look for more destinations and additional flights to expand our reach in the Indian subcontinent,” said Akbar Al Baker, group chief executive of Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways now flies nonstop between Doha and Nagpur

Travelers taking the four-hour flight between Doha and Nagpur will board a A320 aircraft. It holds 12 passengers in business class and 132 in economy. The seat-back screens offer Oryx One, an onboard entertainment system that features more than 900 audio and video on-demand options, as well as SMS text messaging service.

Qatar Airways’ hub is in Doha, Qatar. It has 158 aircraft in its fleet, and it was the first Gulf carrier to join the oneworld alliance.
