It’s All About the Look

Would you repeatedly visit a website that makes you shirk with visual disgust? Most people probably wouldn’t. And they shouldn’t, either.

Branding is everything these days. When something looks good, it appeals to more people. If those people are enthralled with what they see, they’ll keep coming back for more.

Logojoy, one of the world’s leading online logo makers, aims to make logo design both delightful and accessible, allowing for customization so users can create a unique and creative look for their business.

Co-founder and CEO, Dawson Whitfield, talked to RewardExpert about how Logojoy offers people control over design, even guiding them through the process.

Frustration from a Lack of Options

Logojoy was established in November 2016 — a concept conceived while Whitfield was working with a client on a logo design. A designer himself for 15 years, as well as a professional freelancer, a lot of Whitfield’s projects involved logo designs and redesigns for clients.

“The summer before Logojoy was founded, I was working with a client to create a logo — a process that usually takes around three weeks when working together with a designer,” Whitfield said. “After working with the client for several weeks, I felt like a glorified font picker rather than a graphic designer. It was frustrating for me because it felt like I was getting in the way of my client’s vision instead of partnering with them to bring it to life.”

From that point on, he went into “research mode” to see if a product existed for entrepreneurs to design high-quality logos in quick time frames and at affordable prices. When he couldn’t find anything like that on the web, he created it himself.

Creating the Best Experience

Logojoy’s individuality is bred from the idea of creating the ultimate design experience. Focusing strictly on logos has allowed the company to surpass competitors in terms of quality, user experience and creativity.

“In terms of creative intuition, we have used artificial intelligence to be an active assistant in the creative process — whether it is helping our users to pair like colors or match up fonts that truly complement each other in the final design,” he said. “Overall, our users have applauded us for creating a product that not only gets the design job done, but gave them an enjoyable experience in the process, which resulted in a superior logo at the very end.”

The company offers value in its logo packages, like different file types and add-ons that allow customers to realize they are receiving a lot in return. It also offers seasonal promotions and sales that fall in line with global retail trends, like Black Friday. That, in turn, rewards active and future users.

How to Build Your Own Business

Whitfield said that when starting a business, it’s vital to create a detailed plan and stick to a lean budget.

“In the beginning, it is important to balance building the business and watching what you spend as you build,” he said. You should look for “research tools that are cost-efficient and will assist you well in the branding and business building process, and tap into other resources that you can use to keep your operations lean.”

“Maintain this mindset even when you start to turn a profit. It is important to invest back into the business, but always make sure you are stretching every dollar and holding back some funds for a rainy day.”

Logojoy’s plan for 2018 is the same as last year: Continue to grow the company by expanding and nurturing the product — on both technical and product fronts — and assuring that users have the best experience with access to even more branding elements.

The company aims to increase internal teams to be ready for continual growth, continuing the pursuit of new and innovative projects.

According to Whitfield, “We just want to continue being the top online logo maker and are looking to cement that number one spot in the market.”
