Delta Introduces Nonstop Flights Between Raleigh-Durham and Paris

Delta‘s rolling out new nonstop transatlantic service from Raleigh-Durham to Paris. The route starts on May 12, 2016, but you can book tickets now.

The daily flights will leave Raleigh-Durham International Airport at 6:15 p.m. and land at Charles de Gaulle Airport at 8:35 a.m. the next day. Travelers will be able to start their day in Paris, perhaps enjoying an espresso and baguette with a view of the Seine. Return flights leave at 10:45 a.m. and land at Raleigh-Durham at 2 p.m.

The Research Triangle: A Long Time Coming

The Research Triangle, formed by the cities of Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham, is a key market for Delta, and the carrier has been considering nonstop service from there to Paris for a long time. It originally visited the idea in 2008, but when the economic downturn took hold, Delta put those plans on the back burner. Now, though, Delta’s ready to expand service in this important market.

On this route, Delta will fly its Boeing 757-200, which seats 164 people. Travelers who book tickets in Delta One, the carrier’s business class cabin, will find lie-flat seats that include Westin Heavenly in-flight bedding, along with Tumi amenity kits for that little extra TLC.

No matter what class you’re in, you can plug into the aircraft’s Wi-Fi and stay connected, or check out the on-demand in-flight entertainment offering TV shows and movies.

More Access and Better Coffee

Charles de Gaulle Airport is a hub for Delta’s partner Air France. That gives travelers flying this route the ability to connect to flights heading to over 75 destinations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Delta is Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s largest carrier, so passengers can get to 20 destinations on over 60 daily flights.

Delta has also upgraded the Sky Club lounge in Raleigh-Durham, allowing travelers to refuel on an expanded menu, take advantage of premium drinks, or energize with Starbucks coffee and a new espresso machine.
