In the beginning of the year, airlines and partners like hotels and dining programs offer great bonuses so they can stimulate travel in the dead zone between New Years and February.

But now were hitting the back half of February, when people have recovered from the financial hangover of the holidays and are itching to get out of the cold, especially in years like this one when even the South is buried in a foot of snow.

We’re ready to travel, so stay on the lookout for easy ways to build your miles and points balances. Right now there are several great opportunities to top them off for little more work than a few clicks of the mouse.

Click, Join and Earn

Two airlines are making it incredibly easy for you to earn bonus miles this spring: Lufthansa and Etihad.

Sign-up for Lufthansa’s email newsletter for a super quick 500 Miles & More miles and the opportunity to get a heads up on special offers.

Etihad has two ways to earn for joining their program. Sign up for a normal Etihad Guest account and get 1,000 Guest Miles, double the usual sign-up bonus, when you complete any earning transaction with the airline or one of its partners by March 31.

In addition, you can set up an Etihad Business Connect account and pocket 5,000 miles.

Click, Fly and Earn

If you’re flying with a new airline, its usually better to use your frequent flyer number from a partner airline’s program you already belong to. But right now three airlines are offering great bonuses for setting up new accounts and flying within the first few months. This is ideal for that time when you’re buying a flight and debating what frequent flyer number to give.

Emirates is giving up to 5,000 bonus miles when you open a new Skywards account and fly within six months of joining the program. Their JFK-Milan route is a very comfortable way to hit the Worlds Fair in Milan this year.
