RewardExpert is a free, online service that refuses to let people leave free travel dollars on the table. We help travelers make the most out of miles and points to get them to where they want to go. We’re looking for a research analyst to share our insightful data reports that help our users make better personal finance and travel decisions. The ideal candidate understands that data doesn’t stop at raw numbers; it tells a story. We are looking for a creative thinker who can present primary and secondary data in a compelling way for our consumer audience and industry journalists. This role allows you to combine your creative writing skills with your economic/analytical knowledge while building a career with a growing company. Responsibilities:

  • Creating data-driven reports, case studies and white papers that appeal to consumers and major media organizations
  • Working with RewardExpert’s data team to conduct original surveys and research
  • Analyzing demographic and industry-specific data to identify key trends
  • Making forecasts and projections based on existing industry data
  • Collaborating with our Communications Director to create easily digestible reports for our customers and industry journalists.
  • Speaking confidently and critically about data findings with media members

Qualifications:

  • Experience in research, data analytics, and data-driven industry report curation
  • Previous professional experience in a research-based, writing-focused, and/or data-analytical role (3+ years preferred, but not required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to data analysis, economics, research, or data reporting
  • Advanced understanding of research methodologies and survey design
  • Familiarity with online research techniques, economic and financial data sources.
  • Experience with research and analysis of government (e.g. Census data, Department of Transportation data, etc.) and other third-party data sources
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity R Studio, SPSS, and other data-analysis/curation tools is preferred, but not required
  • The ability to meet deadlines and adhere to an editorial calendar
  • Demonstrated professional writing and creative storytelling skills
  • Exceptional oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with minimal oversight
  • A positive, problem-solving, team player personality
  • A shared passion for world travel and adventure
