Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Review: Is It the Right Card for You?
How often have you been shopping at the mall and a cashier asks if you want to apply for a credit card? I bet it happens a lot. That’s because almost every store has its own credit card these days, offering some benefits or discounts to frequent shoppers.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel card is one of those store-branded credit cards. It gives customers free shipping, birthday gifts and shopping rewards. You’ll save $15 on a future purchase, too. Issued by Comenity Bank, the Angel credit card also offers insider access and invites to shopping events throughout the year.
Card members earn three points for each dollar spent on bras and one point per dollar for all other purchases. Note that there are seldom opportunities to earn triple points on an entire purchase and rewards are issued in the form of gift cards. Check out our list of additional credit cards with point rewards here.
The Angel card charges no fees and undoubtedly targets frequent Victoria’s Secret shoppers. Having access to special discounts is nice, but rewards are limited to Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores only.
If the lingerie store is a must-stop for you, you’ll benefit by holding this credit card. Let’s take a closer look at the Victoria’s Secret Angel credit card and its perks.
Victoria’s Secret Credit Card Features and Benefits
Knowing what benefits come with a credit card can help you decide if it’s a good fit for you. Here we cover the bonuses and perks that the Victoria's Secret Angel Credit Card offers and the value of the points you earn.
New cardholders receive a $15 coupon that can be used for the next purchase after signing up for the credit card. The dollar amount is like a sign-up bonus. Say you buy a $30 bra; you’ll receive 50 percent off your purchase with the coupon. The savings aren’t substantial, but they’re savings nonetheless.
The Angel Rewards Program features three membership tiers: Angel, Angel VIP and Angel Forever. The more you spend, the higher your tier. To reach the Angel VIP tier, you must spend $500 within a rolling 12-month period. To reach the Angel Forever tier, you must spend $1,000 within a rolling 12-month period.
Every 250 points you earn with the Angel card translate to a gift certificate that can be redeemed toward a Victoria Secret purchase. They’re good both in-store and online. Angel members receive a $10 certificate, but Angel VIP and Angel Forever members receive a $15 certificate.
Every year, Victoria’s Secret will send cardholders a birthday gift in a form of a $10 coupon. Angel VIP and Angel Forever members also enjoy invitations to special events and options to earn triple points. The Angel Forever members receive an anniversary gift of $10 as well.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel credit card has no fees.
What You Get
- Receive $15 off your first purchase
- $10 gift card for every 250 points earned
- $10 birthday gift
- Free shipping
- No annual fee
The Victoria’s Secret Angel credit card does not offer any special financing to cardholders. In fact, the annual percentage rate is quite high at 26.49% Variable±. There’s no intro APR offer, either. There’s no intro APR offer, either. If you're primarily interested in interest-free financing, check out the list of cards that offer 0% APR here.
Such a high interest rate is a big downside of this rewards card. I recommend paying off your balance in full every month to avoid paying interest and negating the value of your rewards.
When shopping on the store’s website, Victoria’s Secret Angel card members receive free shipping on orders that include bras. The offer applies to standard shipping within the 48 contiguous states only. To take advantage of the offer, cardholders must use the Angel card to pay for the order.
Everyday Earnings with Victoria's Secret Angel Credit Card
The Angel credit card earns 3 points per dollar spent on bras and 1 point per dollar spent on everything else at Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores. Additionally, Victoria’s Secret Angels can select triple points days on which they earn three points per dollar spent on everything purchased that day. The points can be redeemed for gift certificates to Victoria’s Secret stores, and the amount depends on your membership tier.

What Is the Value of Victoria’s Secret Points
Depending on your membership tier level, you will receive either a $10 or a $15 gift certificate for every 250 points you earn, which translates to a rewards rate of 4 or 6 percent. Compared to most rewards cards that offer 1 or 2 percent back, that’s pretty good. Keep in mind that your rewards are limited and can only be used at Victoria’s Secret.
What is CPP and How is it Calculated?
Cents Per Point (CPP) is a way to measure the value of points. It tells you how many cents you get for each point you redeem by dividing the cash price of the hotel room by the number of points of an equivalent award stay costs. This can be a somewhat subjective calculation because the price of the stay in both cash and points fluctuates by season and availability.
We use the following formula to calculate the CPP:
Should You Get the Victoria's Secret Credit Card?
If you’re someone who has to make a stop at Victoria’s Secret every time you visit your local mall to stock up on your undies, bras and sleepwear, you might benefits from carrying the Angel credit card. Making a purchase at least once every 12 months extends the life of your rewards, and card membership doesn’t cost a dime.
The first-purchase discount is $15, but you also receive $10 or $15 (depending on tier level) for every 250 points you earn and then another $10 gift card every year on your birthday. The Angel card has no fees and offers customers plenty of opportunities to save money at the lingerie store.
Remember to pay off your card every month, though. If you carry a balance, the card’s high APR will erase any rewards you earn.
The Victoria’s Secret card might also benefit those consumers whose credit score has seen better days. The truth is that store cards are much easier get, and this why they’re not as rewarding as bank-issued cashback or travel cards.
However, if you’re looking to change things around, you could apply for the Victoria’s Secret credit card, make on-time payments and increase your score over time. As already mentioned, make sure to pay off your balance every month because the interest rate is too high to keep a revolving balance.
Once your score is high enough, I recommend looking into bank-issued rewards credit cards, which typically have better rewards programs and earn flexible points that give you more earning and redeeming options. Rewards cards, like Chase Freedom Unlimited, Citi Double Cash and Qucksilver Cash Rewards, earn cashback rewards on all purchases at any store. You could be earning up to 2 percent cash back with those cards, and it is not limited to a specific merchant.
Overall, the Angel card has higher rewards than most store credit cards, but the rewards are still very limited. The chances to save money at Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores present themselves often, and using this card responsibly can help you build on-time payment history.
If you do not shop at either store frequently, it is obvious that this credit card will not be very useful to you. If you have a high score, you might want to consider some alternatives and pick a travel card or a cashback card to earn more versatile rewards.

Base level Angel card members get free shipping on purchases that include bras when shopping online, a $10 birthday coupon and a $10 certificate for every 250 points earned. There’s no annual spending requirement to become an Angel cardholder.
Angel VIP members must spend at least $500 within any 12-month period on Victoria’s Secret purchases. In addition to base-level perks, Angel VIPs get insider access and invitations to Victoria’s Secret store events and a $15 certificate after earning 250 points.

Some Alternative Cards for Victoria’s Secret Shoppers
Store cards in general, and the Angel card specifically, require a lower credit score for approval. But bank-issued cashback cards typically offer more return on your spending. Also, rewards earned with the Victoria’s Secret credit card are limited to just Victoria’s Secret stores. Let’s look at a few cashback cards whose rewards are as good as cash anywhere.
Best Cashback Card
Citi Double Cash is one of the most rewarding no-fee cashback cards available. It earns 2.0 percent back in any category. You’ll get 1 percent when you make a purchase, and then another 1 percent after you pay off the balance.
Rewards are unlimited, and the card costs nothing to keep. The best part is that there are no category restrictions. Every single purchase earns 2.0 percent cash back.
Rewards can be applied toward any statement in any amount. Travel? Clothing? Groceries? Everything! When it comes to cashback credit cards Citi Double Cash is hard to beat.
Best Rotating Category Card
Earn a 15,000 points bonus with the Chase Freedom after spending $500 in the first three months of card membership. Get 5 points per dollar spent on select rotating bonus categories. The points you earn with this card will never expire as long as your account is open. There’s also no limit on the amount of points you can earn, though the 5 percent bonus for select categories is only good for $1,500 worth of purchases per quarter. After reaching that cap, you’ll earn the standard 1 percent back.
This card also comes with 0% APR for 15 months on both new purchases and balance transfers. That makes this card a good choice if you’re thinking about making a big purchase that you’d want to pay off over time.
Biggest Sign-Up Bonus
With the Chase Freedom Unlimited card, you can earn $150 after spending just $500 in the first three months. The card earns a flat rate of 1.5 percent back on every purchase.
If you carry an Ultimate Rewards card from Chase, such as Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve, then rewards earned with the Freedom Unlimited card can be transferred to those accounts. That means that they can be worth even more than one cent each because they can be transferred to airline partners or redeemed through UR travel portal and earn a bonus.
With this card, the spending requirement is easy to meet and there’s $0 annual fee. All of your rewards are essentially free.
If you have applied for more than five credit cards in the last 24 months, you won’t able to qualify for the Freedom card because of Chase’s 5/24 rule. If that’s the case, I recommend the Quicksilver from Capital One, instead.
This credit card is similar to the Freedom Unlimited. It earns the same 1.5 percent cash back on all purchases, and new cardholders receive a $150 welcome bonus after spending $500 in the first three months.
Whenever you apply for a credit card make sure you read the terms and conditions of the card and the rewards program to find out about minimum spend requirements and any restrictions to ensure you can successfully obtain the card and earn the rewards it offers.

Additional Cardholder Benefits
Since the Victoria’s Secret credit card is not issued as a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card, then it does not include any additional cardholder benefits. Most store-branded cards do not.
